PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nasir Prince (ranked 989 p4p, 1192 weight class) and Adam Porsche (ranked 80 p4p, 108 weight class). Prince comes into the arena with Nas- N.Y. State of Mind blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Porsche's choice of entrance music: Hate it or Love it. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nasir Prince!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Porsche!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Porsche dives in and scores a takedown into Prince's guard.
Prince looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Porsche slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Let's hope that Porsche has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Prince seems keen to control Porsche's posture.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Porsche chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Prince can pounce on him.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Prince finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
And Porsche tries to counter it with a takedown but Prince pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Porsche is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Prince loads up on a big right hand but Porsche slips the punch.
Porsche changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

and Porsche counters with a nice double leg into side control. Prince won't be happy with that.
Porsche takes a little break here. Prince wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Porsche looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Porsche has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Prince!
Porsche tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Prince is squirming around, avoiding Porsche's attempts to control the action.
Porsche controlling his opponent.
Porsche wants to take his opponent's back but Prince doesn't allow it.
Porsche takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Prince tries to land a front kick but Porsche steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
And Porsche tries to counter it with a takedown but Prince pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Prince scores with a jab to the jaw.
Prince fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Porsche looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Prince throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Porsche changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Prince connects with a nice looking jab.
Prince attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Porsche is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Porsche.

and Porsche counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Porsche is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Porsche pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Prince is keeping the position for now.

Porsche controlling from the top position.
Porsche tries to free his leg and advance position but Prince is retaining full guard.
Porsche stands and throws Prince's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Porsche trying to control the position but Prince is working away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Porsche remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Porsche advances to mount.
Prince is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Porsche can do to turn this around?
Porsche controlling the pace for now.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Porsche.
Yet more stalling tactics from Porsche.

Porsche's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Porsche looking to control but Prince is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Porsche avoids the attempt from Prince to control.
Porsche can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Prince is looking to escape.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Adam Porsche showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Nice shot by Prince.
Prince wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Prince uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Prince throws out a loose jab but Porsche uses good head movement to avoid it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Prince misses with an uppercut.
And Porsche tries to counter it with a takedown but Prince pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Prince throws a leg kick that is checked

and Porsche counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Porsche slows the pace down in half guard.

Porsche frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Porsche fails to take his opponent's back.
Porsche controlling the position easily from mount.
Porsche wants to take his opponent's back but Prince doesn't allow it.
Porsche tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Prince prevents Porsche from taking his back.

Adam Porsche comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Porsche has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
