Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danjuma Saheed (ranked 1611 p4p, 2548 weight class) and Furdas Turngemaxt (ranked 218 p4p, 317 weight class). The key to victory for Danjuma Saheed has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Furdas Turngemaxt!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turngemaxt fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Saheed, pushing him back against the cage.

Turngemaxt gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Turngemaxt is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Saheed defends it well.

Turngemaxt throwing shots but Saheed is blocking nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turngemaxt wants to pass to mount but Saheed is defending the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Turngemaxt looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Saheed has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Saheed won't allow Turngemaxt to pass to mount.

Turngemaxt passes to side control.
Turngemaxt trying to control the position but Saheed is working away.

Turngemaxt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Saheed, who protects the arm well.

Turngemaxt is trying to get an arm triangle but Saheed is defending well.
Saheed can't do much from the bottom here.
Turngemaxt looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Saheed prevents Turngemaxt from improving position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Turngemaxt thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Turngemaxt has an Americana. Saheed didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Turngemaxt is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Turngemaxt hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
