Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kresimir Ilic (ranked 2908 p4p, 3630 weight class) and Bones Jones (ranked 322 p4p, 408 weight class). Jones has chosen My Hallelujah as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Kresimir Ilic has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kresimir Ilic seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kresimir Ilic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bones Jones!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ilic thuds a left hand into Jones's body.
Jones fails to land the takedown.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jones.
Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ilic but Ilic pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kresimir Ilic has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bones Jones.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ilic as he avoids it easily.
A jab from Ilic misses.
We've been told by Ilic's head coaches at DC Dragon Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jones shoots in and drives through. Ilic sprawls well.
Jones dives in for a single leg takedown but Ilic sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Ilic sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Ilic shows good takedown defense.
A little feinted left hand from Ilic on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Ilic missing with a left hand there. Jones was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Donk. Ilic catches Jones right on the button with a cross.
Jones closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ilic circles away.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Ilic counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jones thinking.
Ilic moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ilic scores with a crisp jab that stopped Jones in his tracks.
Ilic displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.
Horrible takedown attempt by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Ilic, which made it look bad.

Jones moves out of range as Ilic strikes.
Jones shoots in and bounces Ilic off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Ilic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ilic wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment.

Ilic looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Jones controls from within his opponent's guard.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Ilic gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ilic is stalling in the full guard.
Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ilic is aware though and is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ilic looking to pass the guard.
Ilic throws an elbow that misses. Jones uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ilic's guard. Nice move by Jones!
Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Ilic can't do much from the bottom here.
Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Jones is working to tighten his grip on Ilic's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ilic has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jones is really squeezing tight and eventually Ilic passes out! Jones breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Bones Jones!
An out of breath Bones Jones thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
