Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Rush (ranked 5778 p4p, 5829 weight class) and Vincent Diaz (ranked 521 p4p, 525 weight class). Diaz has chosen Tantric Buddhist Chants as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Rush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vincent Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Diaz or perhaps it was just good defense by Rush, which made it look bad.

Rush gets caught napping as Diaz dives in and scores a takedown. Rush manages to retain guard.
Diaz is standing up over Rush. Rush looks to escape but Diaz dives into side control.

Rush tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Diaz content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rush trying his best to control but Diaz has mounted him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rush wants to hold on but Diaz pushes him away.
Diaz scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Diaz cracks Rush with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Diaz postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rush looks a forlorn figure.

Diaz lands a heavy elbow.
Rush keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Diaz lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rush looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Diaz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Rush digs a good hook to Diaz's body.
Rush jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Rush stuffs the takedown attempt from Diaz. Diaz gets slowly back to his feet.
Diaz shoots in for a double leg but Rush sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rush lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rush throws a body shot but no joy.
And Diaz tries to counter it with a takedown but Rush pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Carlos Rush has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vincent Diaz.
Rush thuds a left hand into Diaz's body.
Rush lands with a thumping leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rush can pounce on him.
Rush leaves Diaz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Diaz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rush fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Diaz has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Rush lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Rush swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Diaz dives in and scores a takedown into Rush's guard.

Let's hope that Diaz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Rush wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Diaz is now in half guard.

Diaz seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Diaz stays in close to Rush's body and controls the position.
Diaz is working Rush over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Rush can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Diaz controls the pace.
Rush is trying to hold Diaz in close to prevent damage but Diaz has managed to pass into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's time! Rush's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Diaz doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Rush counter with a right hand.
Rush stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rush wants it to stay on the feet.

Diaz has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Rush turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Diaz prevents Rush from improving his position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Rush wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rush tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Diaz manages to move to mount!

Diaz cracks Rush with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rush is bucking up trying to escape but Diaz cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rush is trying desperately to improve position.
Diaz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

I would just about give that final round to Vincent Diaz.
I think Diaz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
