Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Torbjørn Knudsvig (ranked 1530 p4p, 2092 weight class) and Scott Thompson (ranked 196 p4p, 245 weight class). Thompson has chosen Redneck Summer - Ben Hudson as his entrance music. Scott Thompson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Thompson!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a body punch but Knudsvig moves out of range.

Scott Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thompson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Knudsvig is pulling down on Thompson's head. It's preventing any offense from Thompson, at least for the moment.

Let's hope that Thompson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Torbjørn Knudsvig.
I think Thompson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
