The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vargas shoots for a takedown but Kokko saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Kokko throws a hook but Vargas blocks it.
Kokko looks to land a left hand but Vargas moved out of range nicely.
Vargas avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Vargas throws out a powerful jab.
Vargas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Vargas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kokko.
Kokko misses with a right hand
and Vargas counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Kokko throws a shot from downtown. Vargas moves away and avoids it.
Kokko looks to land a left hand but Vargas moved out of range nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kokko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vargas moves away.
Vargas drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kokko sprawls and moves away.
We've been hearing reports that Vargas has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Kokko swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kokko is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Vargas.
A shot to the body from Kokko misses
and Vargas counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Kokko throws a body punch but Vargas moves out of range.
Kokko misses with a hook
letting Vargas counter with a right hand.
Kokko looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Vargas lands a right hook to the body.
Kokko misses with a looping left.
Kokko throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kokko throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Vargas counters with a takedown into side control.
Kokko tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vargas is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
