Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hassan Amir (ranked 5418 p4p, 3627 weight class) and Roundel Scoot (ranked 531 p4p, 427 weight class). Hassan Amir has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hassan Amir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Roundel Scoot!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scoot tries to sprawl but Amir drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Amir controlling the action here.
Amir throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Amir is figuring out what he wants to do next.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scoot has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Amir is working away from the top position though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Scoot is trying to get back to full guard.
Scoot tries to kick Amir off but Amir keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Amir throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Scoot enables Amir to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Scoot manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Amir definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Amir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Scoot swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Amir's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Amir throws a lazy body kick
and Scoot counters with a straight right hand.
Scoot keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Scoot moves out of range of the strikes.

Amir throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
A little jabbing left from Scoot on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Amir misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Scoot is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Amir with a body shot.

Scoot gets caught flat footed, as Amir shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Scoot looking for a sweep. Not yet Scoot, not yet.
Amir postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Scoot is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amir is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Scoot is looking to stand up but Amir isn't so interested in that idea.
Amir wants to pass the guard but Scoot is keeping the position.

Amir won't allow Scoot to get back to his feet.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Scoot told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Amir seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Amir takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Amir misses with a takedown attempt - Scoot sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Amir shoots in for a double leg but Scoot sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hassan Amir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Amir fails with the takedown.

enabling Scoot to counter with a crisp jab.

That was a close round but I would say that Hassan Amir will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Scoot with a jab.
Scoot ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Amir takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Scoot slaps away a takedown attempt from Amir, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Scoot stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Amir avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Amir appears to be looking for a big counter.
Scoot avoids the head kick by Amir.
It seemed like Scoot was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amir doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Scoot makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Amir throws a front kick aimed at Scoot's knee but Scoot avoids it well.

Scoot lands a really nice looking cross but Amir seems unphased.

Scoot looks to score with a jab to the body but Amir is just out of range.

Amir moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

and Scoot counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Scoot looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Amir displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Scoot throws out the jab.
Amir rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Scoot moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Scoot is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Amir with a body shot.

Amir closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Scoot did well to prevent Amir getting side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Roundel Scoot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Amir tries for a takedown but Scoot circles away easily
and Amir takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Amir walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Amir takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Scoot gets caught napping as Amir dives in and scores a takedown. Scoot manages to retain guard.

Scoot tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Amir manages to move to mount!

Hassan Amir overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Scoot tries to hold on but Amir postures up.
Scoot is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Roundel Scoot comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Scoot has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
