Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Taromaru Momoji (ranked 432 p4p, 1198 weight class) and Steel Adams (ranked 55 p4p, 134 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Taromaru Momoji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Steel Adams!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Momoji ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Adams moves away.
Momoji slips a jab and a cross from Adams.
Momoji looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Adams defending well as Momoji loads up on a big left hand.
Adams throws a right and a left that both miss.
Momoji shoots for a double leg takedown but Adams sprawls well. He's pushed Momoji's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Momoji looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Momoji scores with a one two! Adams had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Adams walks into a straight right hand from Momoji.
Momoji connects with the punch.
Momoji shoots in for a takedown but Adams shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Taromaru Momoji. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice takedown defense from Adams. No joy for Momoji on that attempt.
Adams leaves Momoji with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A swing and a miss from Momoji.
Adams swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
A looping hook to the body misses from Momoji. Adams does a little dance to reset his feet.
Adams looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Momoji does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Momoji misses with an uppercut
and Adams counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Adams throws a shot from downtown. Momoji moves away and avoids it.
Momoji shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Momoji throws a hook but Adams avoids it easily.
Adams tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Momoji was well out of range. Poor timing from Adams.
Taromaru Momoji seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Momoji.
Momoji looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Adams stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Adams wants it to stay on the feet.
Adams throws out a counter right but Momoji avoids it with no problem.
Momoji closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Adams did well to prevent Momoji getting side control.
Adams wants to get back to his feet.
Adams trying to control but Momoji postures up.
Adams tries to kick Momoji off but Momoji keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Adams felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Momoji stalling away here and it's allowed Adams to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Adams is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Momoji is controlling him.
Momoji is working Adams over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Momoji won't allow Adams to get back to his feet.
Adams is trying to control the position but Momoji postures up.
Momoji working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Adams's head.
Adams has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Momoji can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Adams is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Momoji frees his head nicely. Oh but Adams has switched to an armbar! Momoji is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
