The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howell connects with an inside leg kick.
Nice jab there from McPherson.

It looks like Julius Howell has been cut.
A swing and a miss from McPherson.
Howell tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Good work by McPherson as he checks the leg kick.
McPherson seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Howell throws an overhand right that lands on McPherson's shoulder, as McPherson tries to avoid the shot.
Howell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McPherson defends it nicely.

Howell is trying to drag McPherson to the mat but McPherson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Howell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McPherson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

McPherson scores a nice knee to the body.

McPherson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Howell is defending well for now.

Julius Howell's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
