Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Hong (ranked 2495 p4p, 5702 weight class) and Rick Victor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rick Victor is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jonathan Hong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rick Victor!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hong rushes Victor and presses him up against the cage.
Hong misses with a punch on the inside.

Victor jumps guard and drags Hong to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Hong decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Victor, up you get!
Victor fails with a takedown attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Victor feints and as Hong raises his hands in defense, Victor changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hong wants to stand but Victor is controlling the position.

Hong keeping moving, preventing Victor from controlling successfully.
Victor won't allow Hong to get back to his feet.
Victor postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Hong has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Victor is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Victor has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Hong seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Victor can turn it around.
Hong swings wildly with an uppercut but Victor uses good head movement to avoid it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Victor throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hong blocks it with crossed arms.

Hong lands a right hand.
Hong lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Hong fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Hong swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hong misses with the head strike.

Victor manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Hong stops Victor from standing up.
Hong wants to stand and escape but instead Victor has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Hong has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Victor off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nice takedown defense from Hong. No joy for Victor on that attempt.

enabling Hong to counter with a crisp jab.

Hong closes the distance and clinches.

Hong lands with a light punch inside.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Victor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hong manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Hong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Victor is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hong is defending well.
Hong lands an uppercut.
A short right from Hong.
Hong is pressed up against the cage. Victor has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hong down to the mat. Hong avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Victor closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hong quickly recovers to half guard.
Hong is trying to stand up here but Victor is controlling him well.
Hong tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Victor manages to move to mount!

Hong is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Victor working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Hong is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Victor landing strikes from the mount.
Victor with the ground and pound from mount.
Hong is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Victor breaks from Hong's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Victor is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Hong to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Hong shrugs it off.

Hong is trying to stand but he's just given Victor his back.

Hong is trying to defend against the choke here but Victor has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Victor Tightens the hold and Hong taps out furiously! Victor displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rick Victor!
