The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kido takes a kick to the side of the head.
It looks like Yoshihiro Kido has been cut.
Kido tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Smith misses with a double jab
and Kido counters with a nice double leg into side control. Smith won't be happy with that.
Smith is looking to get back to his feet here but Kido is keeping cool and he's managed to take Smith's back.
Smith is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Kido is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Smith has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Kido has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Smith taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Kido doesn't care though - he's delighted!
