Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roy Bender (ranked 5942 p4p, 5358 weight class) and Ben Howe (ranked 291 p4p, 279 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roy Bender! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ben Howe! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Howe fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bender was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Howe looks to land a combination but Bender avoids it well. Bender was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Ben Howe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Howe looks for the body kick but Bender saw that one coming. Bender swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Howe throws a head kick that misses letting Bender counter with a right hand. Howe clinches up with Bender and pushes him back against the ropes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Howe wants a takedown.
Bender lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Howe backwards. Howe wants to stall.
Bender definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Bender escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Howe moves into the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bender escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Howe misses with the body kick and Bender counters with a straight right hand. Howe throws a body shot but no joy. Howe moves to clinch but Bender breaks away and Bender counters with a crisp right hand that drops Howe! Bender lets Howe back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Howe is rocked! Howe closes the distance and clinches. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Howe tries to pull guard but Bender holds him up against the ropes and eventually Howe drops back down to his feet.
Bender lands a right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A short right hand to the side of the head by Bender. Howe is still on wobbly legs! Can Bender finish him? Bender throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Howes head. Bender pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Howe misses with a takedown attempt and Bender counters with a huge left! Howe is in big trouble! He's backing up but Bender isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Howe from any more damage. A dominating finish by Bender!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Roy Bender!
