Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sarkis Kalavas (ranked 4140 p4p, 25800 weight class) and Travis Krawl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Travis Krawl is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sarkis Kalavas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Travis Krawl!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kalavas moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Krawl scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Some wild striking there from Krawl.
Krawl gets caught flat footed, as Kalavas shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kalavas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Krawl keeping moving, preventing Kalavas from controlling successfully.
Kalavas is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Kalavas is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Krawl is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Kalavas has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kalavas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Kalavas uses his free foot to push down on Krawl's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Krawl.
Krawl wants to control but Kalavas is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kalavas looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Krawl takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Kalavas quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Kalavas but it's paid off an Krawl is forced to tap! Nice work by Kalavas.
