Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jeramiah Pony (ranked 2146 p4p, 3335 weight class) and Zaid Sims (ranked 162 p4p, 228 weight class). Zaid Sims will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zaid Sims!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sims fails with the takedown
and Pony counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Sims wants to stand back up but Pony manages to pass into side control.
Pony tries to advance to mount but can't.
Pony moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Pony has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Sims on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sims is looking for a sweep.

Sims gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Pony jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sims is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sims and Pony has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Pony wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sims, who protects the arm well.
Pony lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Sims down.

Pony wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sims, who protects the arm well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pony lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Sims takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Pony is trying to move to mount but Sims reverses beautifully and ends up in Pony's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pony pulls Sims in to control the position.

Sims trying to control the position from guard on top but Pony is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pony escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sims gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pony has Sims pulled in close to control his posture.
Sims trying to stand up but can't free himself from Pony's guard.
Sims stands and throws Pony's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pony is looking for a sweep.
Sims working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Sims looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Pony tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sims wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sims tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Pony tries to bench press Sims off him but Sims keeps the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Sims shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Pony swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Pony looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pony is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sims doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pony.
Pony is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Pony lands a nice short elbow.
Pony is taking a breather. Sims says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Pony seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sims for as long as he can get away with.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pony connects with a nice short shot to Sims's temple.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pony scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Sims is in trouble now - Pony has advanced to mount!

Pony lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Pony goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Sims is on top in guard.
Sims is posturing up here but Pony has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Sims tries to roll out but it's too tight and Sims has to tap! Slick submission there by Pony!

Jeramiah Pony tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
