PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elliott Acosta (ranked 3442 p4p, 5948 weight class) and Jumbo Mills (ranked 410 p4p, 538 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Elliott Acosta has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Elliott Acosta seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jumbo Mills!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mills uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Acosta.
Mills should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

and Mills cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Acosta lands with a hook. Mills tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Mills uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Acosta.
Acosta definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Acosta shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Mills rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Acosta moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jumbo Mills seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mills works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Acosta fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mills manages to avoid it.
Mills smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Mills moves out of range of the strikes.
Mills tests Acosta's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Mills uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Acosta.
Mills throws a shot from downtown. Acosta moves away and avoids it.
Acosta throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mills.
Mills throws a hook but Acosta blocks it.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Mills counters with a nice uppercut.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Acosta might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Acosta connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Acosta cracks Mills with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Acosta has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Mills to stand back up!

Mills is rocked!

The cut above Jumbo Mills's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Acosta tries to bum rush Mills with a series of wild strikes but Mills uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mills is still on wobbly legs! Can Acosta finish him?
Acosta stuns Mills with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Mills seems to have recovered his senses.
Jumbo Mills seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Acosta changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Acosta lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Mills falls backwards - clearly groggy! Acosta dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
