Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gordon Gekko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davey Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gekko is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones is looking to land body kicks.
Jones shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Jones looking to sit in guard and control but Gekko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gekko is looking to stand up but Jones won't let him.
Gekko postures up.
Gekko throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gekko has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gekko is desperately trying to improve his position but Jones has a good base and remains in mount.
Gekko is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Jones is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Gekko is surviving well by controlling Jones's body position as best he can.
Jones goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Gekko turns into him and now he's in Jones's guard.

Jones throws a push kick but Gekko slaps the foot to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gekko but Gekko pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Jones moves out of range of the body kick from Gekko.

Gekko moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.

Gekko closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gekko lands in his opponent's guard.

Jones is pushing down on Gekko's leg trying to pass to half guard. Gekko is fighting to maintain full guard but Jones has managed to sneak the leg through.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall.

Gekko is looking for a sweep. Jones is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones is pressing down on Gekko's thigh, looking to free his foot. Gekko is holding on for now.
Jones passes the guard and advances to mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Jones tries for a takedown but Gekko circles away easily
and Gekko counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gekko.
Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gekko doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gekko manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Gekko stands up over Jones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jones wants to get back to his feet but Gekko is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jones is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Jones is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Gekko dives into side control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jones pushes Gekko away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gekko gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Jones looks to move to half guard but instead Gekko has passed into mount! Damn!

Gekko is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Jones has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Jones is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Gekko jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jones manages to avoid the submission attempt.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Jones manages to get back to half guard.
Gekko is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jones doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gekko.
Gekko throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Well Gekko has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
