PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Quang Luong (ranked 4203 p4p, 4115 weight class) and Busta Nuts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Luong kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Trouble’s Coming. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nuts avoids the head kick by Luong.
Nuts changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Luong closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nuts to the mat! Nuts manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nuts is pulling down on Luong's head. It's preventing any offense from Luong, at least for the moment.
Luong slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Nuts feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Luong had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Nuts defends it easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nuts accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Busta Nuts dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Nuts closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nuts lands in his opponent's guard.

Luong has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Nuts has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Luong is trying to maintain a safe position but Nuts gets an underhook and turns Luong into the cage.
Nuts tries to work over Luong's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Luong ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Luong no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Nuts arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Luong's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
