Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ulysses Laertes (ranked 4219 p4p, 3617 weight class) and Elliot King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Laertes might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Now We Are Free. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ulysses Laertes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Elliot King!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Russell Pearce and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laertes misses with a double jab.
Laertes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Laertes is looking to clinch but King is avoiding it.
Laertes walks into a left hand.
Laertes shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense.
King keeps the fight on the outside.
The fighters circling - Laertes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
King showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Laertes.
A punch combination from King misses.
Laertes looks to score with a jab to the body but King is just out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laertes on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
King lands a jab.
King throws a combination. Laertes tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Laertes is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Laertes tries to clinch
and Laertes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Oh Laertes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
King lands a slapping body shot.
Laertes takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Ulysses Laertes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Laertes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Laertes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Laertes gets cracked there but stands up to it.
King lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Laertes falls backwards - clearly groggy! King dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Elliot King!
