The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hansen takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Van Damme misses with a double jab.
Van Damme tries to bum rush Hansen with a series of wild strikes but Hansen uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Van Damme looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Hansen lands with a hook. Van Damme tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

No joy there for Van Damme, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hansen lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Hansen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Van Damme momentarily.
Van Damme throws a hook to the side of Hansen's head but Hansen sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Van Damme shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Hansen lands a glancing blow to the side of Van Damme's head.

and Hansen counters with a stiff right hand.
Van Damme is breathing heavily.
Hansen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Van Damme looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Hansen counters with a left to the body.

Van Damme looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Hansen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Van Damme's head backwards.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hansen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Hansen jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Van Damme misses with a two punch combination.
Hansen feints a jab promting Van Damme to slip. Hansen then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Van Damme slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Hansen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Hansen checks the leg kick nicely there.
Hansen throws a combination. Van Damme tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Hansen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Van Damme misses with a wild combination.
Hansen might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Van Damme drops his hands momentarily and Hansen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Hansen shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Van Damme eats them both and turns towards Hansen to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Van Damme takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Hansen jabs Van Damme to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Van Damme takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Hansen lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Hansen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hansen connects with a single shot there.
Van Damme shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Van Damme fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Van Damme lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hansen circles away quickly and effectively.
Van Damme throws a nice looking combination but Hansen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Van Damme looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Hansen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Van Damme doesn't seem bothered though.

Van Damme stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hansen.
Van Damme throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A jab from Hansen does it's job there.
Hansen lands a nice shot that snaps Van Damme's head back.
Hansen goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Van Damme is rocked!
Van Damme is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Oh Van Damme is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hansen scores with a jab to the head.
Hansen connects with a combination that backs up Van Damme into the cage. Hansen lands a flurry of punches that gets past Van Damme's guard. Van Damme is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Hansen bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
