PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Crisanni (ranked 4007 p4p, 5673 weight class) and Prince Alvarez (ranked 439 p4p, 522 weight class). Crisanni comes to the cage accompanied by FELL ME??. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alexander Crisanni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Prince Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crisanni listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Crisanni definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Crisanni lands a jab to the nose.
Alvarez throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Alvarez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Crisanni sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alvarez somewhat.
Alvarez lands with a kick to the ribs.
Alvarez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Crisanni counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Crisanni.
Alvarez is trying to pull guard but Crisanni turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Alexander Crisanni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Prince Alvarez.

Crisanni jumps guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Crisanni is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Alvarez is working an open guard so Crisanni takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Alvarez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Alvarez stalling in the clinch but Crisanni improves position.

Crisanni has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Alvarez is trying to keep an underhook but Crisanni manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alvarez wants to control but Crisanni is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Crisanni is looking to advance position but Alvarez won't allow it.

Crisanni is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Well, if Crisanni is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Alvarez tries to kick Crisanni off but Crisanni keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Alvarez controlling the position for now.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Crisanni lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Crisanni with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Alvarez wants to control but Crisanni is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Alvarez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Crisanni. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Crisanni fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Alvarez on the side of the head.
Alvarez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Crisanni swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Crisanni misses with a double jab.
Crisanni works over Alvarez's head and body with a nice combination.

Crisanni darts in and clinches Alvarez up against the cage.
Alvarez jumps guard but Crisanni turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Crisanni manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Crisanni lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Crisanni with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Crisanni not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Alvarez tries to keep at a distance but Crisanni has taken the fight into the clinch.

Crisanni lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Crisanni is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Crisanni postures up and lands a big shot to Alvarez's brow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crisanni lands a couple of elbows.

Crisanni drops back looking for a leg! Alvarez is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Alvarez manages to kick Crisanni off! Crisanni jumps back into Alvarez's guard.

Crisanni is stalling in the full guard.

Alvarez is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Crisanni controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Crisanni postures up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Alvarez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Crisanni is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Crisanni stands up and waves to Alvarez to follow him.
Alvarez dives in and grabs Crisanni's left leg, looking for a takedown. Crisanni pushes down on Alvarez's head and hops out.
Crisanni appears to be looking for a big counter.
Alvarez fails with a takedown attempt.
Alvarez is breathing heavily.

Crisanni closes the distance and pushes Alvarez back into the cage.
Alvarez has a couple of punches blocked by Crisanni.
Crisanni's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Crisanni is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Alvarez can do to turn this around?

Crisanni's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

It looks like Prince Alvarez has been cut.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Alvarez.
Alvarez shoots for a double leg takedown but Crisanni sprawls well. He's pushed Alvarez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Alvarez is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Crisanni's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Crisanni! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Alvarez has tapped! This one is allllll over!
