Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Demarion Mathis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Casimir Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathis walks into a jab.
Demarion Mathis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kowalski enables Mathis to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kowalski manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Mathis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Mathis has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Kowalski is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Kowalski isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mathis stacks Kowalski on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mathis!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mathis advances nicely into full mount.

Mathis's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Kowalski is looking to improve his position but Mathis isn't that keen on the idea.

Kowalski tries to improve his position but Mathis has taken his back! Mathis has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Kowalski tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Mathis pushes Kowalski away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Demarion Mathis!
In his post fight interview, Demarion Mathis started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
