The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasilios thows a left - swing and a miss!
Key connects with a jab.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Key has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Vasilios avoids the body shot from Key.
Key swats away the attempt to clinch by Vasilios.
Key throws a lazy right hand but Vasilios sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Vasilios misses with an uppercut.

Vasilios closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Key quickly recovers to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Alkandros Vasilios seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vasilios looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Key is fending him off so far but Vasilios persists. Nope, Key circles away and we're back to standing.
Vasilios jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Vasilios misses with a body shot.

Key shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vasilios napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Key throws a strike aimed at the side of Vasilios's head but Vasilios avoids it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Key has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Key jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Vasilios is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Vasilios and Key has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Key looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Key has control of an arm but Vasilios manages to advance to Key's back!

Key breaks Vasilios's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Key trying to control the position from guard on top but Vasilios is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Vasilios has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Key is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Vasilios.

Key is looking to stall here but Vasilios recovers full guard.
Vasilios utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Key is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Vasilios has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Key is looking to defend but Vasilios has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Key! Vasilios pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Key taps out and this one is all over!
