The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Underwood fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mcdowell, pushing him back against the cage.
Mcdowell blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Mcdowell lands a shoulder strike.
Mcdowell pushes Underwood back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Underwood misses with a hook from the clinch.
Mcdowell blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Mcdowell lands with a short shot to the head.
A head punch on the inside from Mcdowell fails to land.
Underwood prevents a body shot from Mcdowell.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Underwood.
Mcdowell swings wildly with an uppercut but Underwood uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mcdowell stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Underwood got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mcdowell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Underwood has managed to get both his arms back between Mcdowell's legs - danger averted.

Mcdowell throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Underwood escapes and throws Mcdowell's legs to the side, diving into side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

As Mcdowell tries to get set, Underwood tries to push him back and clinch up but Mcdowell manages to avoid the attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
