Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cael Pearson (ranked 5722 p4p, 4065 weight class) and Balyn Omavel (ranked 511 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Cael Pearson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Balyn Omavel! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pearson drives through and clinches with Omavel against the cage.
Omavel lands with a short head shot on the inside. Pearson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Omavel misses with a short punch on the inside. Pearson pulls Omavel into guard.

Pearson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Omavel just stands there and leans against the cage. Omavel fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Omavel blocks a leg kick. It seemed like Omavel was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Omavel's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pearson under the eye. Pearson clinches up against the cage. Pearson has hold of one of Omavel's legs. Omavel is fighting the takedown attempt but Pearson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Pearson is stalling in the full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Pearson landing with the ground and pound. Omavel is looking to stand up but Pearson isn't so interested in that idea. Pearson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Pearson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Omavel for as long as he can get away with. Cael Pearson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Omavel wants to get back to his feet. Pearson biding his time, controlling Omavel. Pearson really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Omavel.

He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Pearson gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Pearson apologises and we restart here on the feet.
The fighters circling - Omavel throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Pearson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Pearson catches Omavel with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Pearson throws a leg kick and Omavel counters with a nice body shot. Omavel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Pearson's corner is telling him to maintain position. Pearson advances to half guard. Omavel tries to kick Pearson off in order to stand up. Pearson Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Pearson controls the position. Omavel bucks up and tries to throw Pearson off but instead Pearson has got his back! Pearson has Omavel flattened out and is raining down punches. Pearson is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Pearson is punishing Omavel with some ground and pound. What can Omavel do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

And that's the end of the fight! Cael Pearson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Pearson, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
