Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kristian Rush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sherpov Gelovkin!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Rush finds it's way through Gelovkin's defenses.
Gelovkin tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rush defends well and Gelovkin ends up having to push Rush into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rush throws a chopping leg kick but Gelovkin manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Gelovkin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rush looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rush is trying to get back to half guard.
Gelovkin is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Rush is trying to escape and Gelovkin transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Rush is forced to tap! Nice work there by Gelovkin! Very nice indeed!
