Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Eddie Alvarez (ranked 5955 p4p, 25078 weight class) and Rick Drew (ranked 538 p4p, 545 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eddie Alvarez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rick Drew! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Ian Loll.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A combination from Drew does no damage. Drew thows a leg kick but Alvarez checks it and Alvarez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
 It looks like Rick Drew has been cut. Rick Drew seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Drew slips under a jab from Alvarez. The crowd cheers as Drew lands an impressive looking overhand right. Alvarez doesn't seem phased though. Alvarez avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Alvarez cracks a nice hook into Drew's ribs. Drew ducks under a wild hook from Alvarez. Alvarez seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Alvarez cracks Drew with an open hand slap. A head kick misses from Drew. Drew shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Alvarez eats them both and turns towards Drew to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
 It looks like Eddie Alvarez has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Alvarez pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Drew throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Drew doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Drew throws a leg kick and Alvarez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Alvarez avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Drew misses with a lunging right hand
letting Alvarez counter with a right hand. Drew scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Alvarez doesn't seem bothered though. A big left from Drew misses. Drew lands a lovely overhand right. Drew takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Drew rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Alvarez counters with a series of strikes. Drew will be more careful next time no doubt. Drew pivots, looking for a leg kick but Alvarez is out of range and Drew settles back down. Alvarez blocks the body kick.
Alvarez pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Drew back to the cage. Alvarez follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
 Drew is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Alvarez throws a sloppy body shot
and Drew counters with a nice body kick.
Drew is still on wobbly legs! Can Alvarez finish him?
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Drew throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Alvarez counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Drew seems to have recovered his senses. Alvarez listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Drew misses with a body kick. Alvarez is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Alvarez shuts the power down on Drew. Lights out, game over! Alvarez is your winner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Eddie Alvarez! Eddie Alvarez bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
