Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Hamburger Jones!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anatol Krupa!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones darts in looking for a takedown but Krupa gets double underhooks and turns Jones into the ropes.
Jones wants to stall.
Krupa breaks from the clinch.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Krupa's waist but Krupa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.
Jones closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Krupa quickly recovers to half guard.
Krupa pushes Jones off but Jones dives into side control.
Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Krupa is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Krupa can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones wants to control but Krupa is keeping him busy.
Krupa is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Jones asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Krupa keeps working.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Jones has hold of Krupa's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Krupa tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Jones cranks the arm and Krupa screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Krupa, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Hamburger Jones!
