And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rum drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Caldwell throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Spiced Rum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rum.
Caldwell drops down looking for a counter takedown but Rum sprawls and moves away.
Rum tries for a takedown but Caldwell circles away easily

and Caldwell counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Rum!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rum is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Caldwell is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Rum is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Rum really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Caldwell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Caldwell working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Rum turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Caldwell off and cradles Rum's limp body as Caldwell celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Harry Caldwell!
