Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Quentain Martell (ranked 247 p4p, 522 weight class) and Vinicius Tonioli (ranked 33 p4p, 70 weight class). Martell kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I Pledge Allegiance (Nate Dogg ft. Pharoahe Monch). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Quentain Martell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vinicius Tonioli!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, James Atkins and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tonioli misses with a head kick.
Tonioli lands a jab to the head.
A swing and a miss from Tonioli.
It looked like Martell was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Martell ducks under a wild hook from Tonioli.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

That was a close round but I would say that Quentain Martell will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Tonioli is pressed up against the cage. Martell has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tonioli down to the mat. Tonioli avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Tonioli enables Martell to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Tonioli manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Martell goes for a takedown attempt but Tonioli pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Martell looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Tonioli throws a lazy right hand but Martell sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Martell uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Tonioli.
It looked like Martell wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Tonioli throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Martell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tonioli pinned against the cage. Tonioli gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Vinicius Tonioli showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Martell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tonioli swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tonioli is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Martell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Quentain Martell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Vinicius Tonioli seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Tonioli lands a big head kick that sends Martell tumbling to the mat! Tonioli takes a step backwards and waves Martell back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Quentain Martell has been cut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Martell.

Tonioli looks to land a combination but Martell avoids it well.
