Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Minor Cuevas (ranked 2196 p4p, 1847 weight class) and Frankmaster Phlex (ranked 282 p4p, 245 weight class). Cuevas has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Frankmaster Phlex is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Minor Cuevas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankmaster Phlex! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Phlex lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Phlex connects with a jab. Phlex dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Cuevas misses with a straight right. Phlex uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cuevas. Phlex throws a combination. Cuevas tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Phlex lands a nice looking body shot.
Cuevas looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Cuevas misses with a lunging right hand
and Phlex counters with a right hand to the body. Phlex connects with a looping right hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Phlex works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Cuevas has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Phlex finds it's way round the side to connect with Cuevas's head. Frankmaster Phlex seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Phlex connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Phlex throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cuevas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Cuevas has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Cuevas there as he acknowledges the shot. Phlex dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Cuevas takes a shot right to the bread basket. A punch lands to the side of Cuevas 's head but he takes it in his stride.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phlex scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Phlex moves into range and connects with a jab. Phlex scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Cuevas throws a lazy uppercut
and Phlex counters with a stiff right hand. Phlex on the wrong end of a nice hook. Phlex ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Donk. Cuevas catches Phlex right on the button with a cross. Nice body punch from Phlex. Cuevas is breathing heavily. Cuevas misses with a few strikes there.
Phlex connects with a body shot that sends Cuevas's belly button to the back. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jab from Phlex. Phlex lands a slapping body shot.
Phlex clobbers Cuevas with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Cuevas walks into a jab. Phlex lands with an uppercut that bounces Cuevas off the cage and back into range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Phlex swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cuevas. Phlex cracks a nice hook into Cuevas's ribs. Jab from Phlex.
Cuevas is rocked! Phlex slips under a jab. Phlex lands a head shot. Oh Cuevas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Phlex dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Cuevas seems to have got his legs back now. Phlex darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Phlex scores with a nice right hand.
Phlex lands with a shot to the body. Cuevas takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. A big right from Cuevas misses. Phlex throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Cuevas throws a series of punches but Phlex moves out of range. A jab from Phlex does it's job there. Cuevas throws a right hand that misses
and Phlex counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cuevas thinking.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cuevas takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Phlex digs a good hook to Cuevas's body.
Nice straight punches there by Phlex. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Phlex. Cuevas takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Phlex lunges at Cuevas with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Cuevas's hand. We've been informed that Phlex has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Phlex lands a lovely overhand right. Phlex looks to land a combination. Cuevas sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. The fighters circle momentarily. Phlex darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Phlex scores with a jab. Cuevas acknowledges it with a nod of the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Cuevas takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Phlex lands with a nice body punch. Cuevas misses with a lunging right hand
and Phlex counters with a nice body shot. Cuevas doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Cuevas misses the target. Phlex scores with a body shot.
Phlex comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Phlex lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Phlex uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Phlex tests Cuevas's chin there with a solid looking shot. Cuevas takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Phlex dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Danga de danga de dang - Phlex scores with a four punch combination! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Phlex slips a jab from Cuevas. Phlex uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cuevas has time to react. Phlex is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Phlex is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Cuevas had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush. Cuevas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Phlex was well out of range. Poor timing from Cuevas. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Frankmaster Phlex dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Nice straight punches there by Phlex. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Phlex. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Cuevas might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Phlex lands a glancing blow to the side of Cuevas's head. Frankmaster Phlex seems to be getting the better of the standup. Phlex digs a good body shot into Cuevas's ribs. Phlex connects with a body shot. Cuevas has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Cuevas takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Cuevas misses with an uppercut
and Phlex counters with a lovely straight right hand! Cuevas takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Cuevas is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Phlex throws a shot to the body.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Phlex, as that shot connected.

Cuevas takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Phlex moves into range and connects with a jab. Phlex scores with a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Phlex scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Cuevas needs to keep his hands up - Phlex had a free shot at his head there. Phlex moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Phlex stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Phlex connects with a single shot there. Phlex has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Phlex cracks Cuevas with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Cuevas falls to his knees and Phlex doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frankmaster Phlex! Our winner, Frankmaster Phlex, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
