And in the blue corner, fighting out of Sydney, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 13 losses; Marquis Chriss!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Teteny with a poor takedown

and Chriss counters by moving into the clinch.

Chriss jumps guard and drags Teteny to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Chriss looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Chriss had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Teteny defends it easily.

Chriss has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Teteny can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Chriss is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chriss is on top in guard.

Teteny is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Chriss looking to sit in guard and control but Teteny gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Teteny drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Chriss dives on top into guard.

Chriss drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Teteny manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chriss has Teteny in his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Teteny is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Our spies down at at 4 inform us that Chriss has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Chriss wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
