Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yawa Kiang (ranked 23993 p4p, 23930 weight class) and Way Nada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yawa Kiang could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Way Nada's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 36 - 68 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yawa Kiang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 52 - 52 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Way Nada! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Kiang gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kiang holds on and takes a little breather. Nada slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kiang is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kiang goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Nada shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kiang but Kiang pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kiang stuffs the takedown. It appears Kiang was looking to counter with a kick there. Nada misses with a takedown attempt - Kiang sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kiang quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect. Yawa Kiang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Way Nada. Kiang displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nada.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nada looks to score with a jab to the body but Kiang is just out of range. Nada shoots in for a double leg but Kiang sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nada tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kiang defends well and Nada ends up having to push Kiang into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Kiang seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Kiang gets a double leg takedown into Nada's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kiang controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Kiang's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nada working a defensive guard but Kiang passes into half guard.
Kiang is taking a breather. Nada says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Yawa Kiang dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Kiang throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Nada follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Kiang shoots in but no luck this time. Nada counters with a body kick. Nada stuffs the takedown. Kiang shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kiang was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. You can see the frustration on Nada's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nada is looking to reverse the position. You can see the frustration on Nada's face as Kiang controls the position. Kiang working away. Kiang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Nada keeps working. Nada is trying to control Kiang's posture but Kiang avoids it. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Yawa Kiang overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Nada holding on.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nada. Kiang shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kiang was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nada manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Kiang is controlling the pace.
Nada looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kiang slows the pace down in half guard. Kiang is looking to take a break and control but Nada is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nada is controlling Kiang's trapped leg to prevent Kiang from advancing to side control. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Yawa Kiang will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Kiang shoots for a double leg takedown but Nada sprawls well. He's pushed Kiang's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Nada unleashes a big counter combination but Kiang bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Nada closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kiang quickly recovers to half guard. Kiang tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Nada has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Nada controlling from the full mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nada prevents Kiang from getting the reversal. Nada tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kiang tries to hold on but Nada postures up. Kiang tries to reverse the position but Nada maintains control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Nada is in the full mount, landing strikes. Kiang avoids a series of strikes thrown by Nada.
Nada takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Kiang wants to control but Nada is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nada controlling from the full mount. Kiang gets back to half guard. Nada content to control rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kiang wants to improve his position but Nada is controlling well.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Way Nada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Yawa Kiang is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Nada changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kiang tries to avoid it but Nada manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kiang to the ground. Kiang escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Kiang quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
And that's the end of the fight! Way Nada comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Kiang has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
