Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nirmal Singh (ranked 4165 p4p, 25387 weight class) and Said Abdulayev (ranked 399 p4p, 0 weight class). Abdulayev comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Thé à la Menthe Instrumental kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Said Abdulayev will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Said Abdulayev!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abdulayev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Singh as he jumps to the side.
As Abdulayev looks to move away, Singh throws a big counter combo but Abdulayev just gets out of the way.

Abdulayev scores with a takedown into Singh's guard.
Singh seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Singh looking for subs off his back but Abdulayev has passed one foot through into half guard.
Singh wants to stand back up but Abdulayev manages to pass into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Abdulayev tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Abdulayev has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Singh tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Abdulayev presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Singh wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Singh tries to lock up and control but Abdulayev gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Singh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Singh is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Singh keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Singh has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Abdulayev clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Abdulayev is trying to get back to his feet but Singh has full control of the position and if anything, Abdulayev has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Singh gets his hands free as Abdulayev looks to control.

Singh is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Abdulayev is defending well though. Singh let's go of the attempt for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Singh is persistently looking for the submission but Abdulayev is defending it well.
