Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roman Hayes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Draganov!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Draganov there.
A solid leg kick lands there for Draganov.
Hayes throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hayes wants to clinch up but Draganov keeps it at a distance.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Draganov!
Horrible takedown attempt by Hayes or perhaps it was just good defense by Draganov, which made it look bad.
Hayes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Draganov throws a head kick that misses.
Hayes went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Hayes moves in looking to clinch but Draganov pushes him off.
Draganov throws a nice inside leg kick.
Draganov dips to his left and cracks Hayes with an uppercut!
No joy there for Hayes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hayes tries to land a front kick but Draganov steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hayes takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Draganov scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hayes doesn't seem bothered though.
Draganov dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hayes shoots for a double leg takedown but Draganov sprawls well. He's pushed Hayes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roman Hayes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Draganov connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hayes. Hayes circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Draganov scores with a leg kick.
A solid leg kick lands there for Draganov.
Draganov lands with a hook. Hayes tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Draganov feints a jab promting Hayes to slip. Draganov then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hayes slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Hayes has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Draganov.
Draganov tests Hayes's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Draganov lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Hayes is rocked!
Hayes drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Oh Hayes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Draganov circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Hayes to the canvas! Hayes doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Draganov keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ivan Draganov!
Ivan Draganov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
