PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Justin Cain (ranked 3252 p4p, 4160 weight class) and Muhammad Taif (ranked 0 p4p, 298 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Muhammad Taif was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Justin Cain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Muhammad Taif!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Sam Margolis and Andrew Berry.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cain shoots in and bounces Taif off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Taif being controlled here, momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taif is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cain is controlling him.
Cain trying to control the position from guard on top but Taif is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cain lands a couple of elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cain stays in close to Taif's body and controls the position.
Cain prevents Taif from getting back to his feet.
Cain working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Taif's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cain is working Taif over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Taif is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cain is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cain lands a couple of digs.
Cain is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Cain stands up over Taif, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Taif is rocked!
Taif has momentary wrist control but Cain slips an elbow through the middle.
Taif is still in real trouble! Can Cain finish him?
Taif is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Cain dives into side control.
Cain slows the pace down.

Cain is working to tighten his grip on Taif's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Taif has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Cain is really squeezing tight and eventually Taif passes out! Cain breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
