Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simon Hedegaard (ranked 1241 p4p, 1229 weight class) and John Edmonds (ranked 162 p4p, 161 weight class). Edmonds has chosen Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Simon Hedegaard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 44 - 36 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Edmonds!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edmonds lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Edmonds shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hedegaard's guard.

Hedegaard looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hedegaard has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edmonds can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hedegaard had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Edmonds defends it easily.

Edmonds stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hedegaard swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Simon Hedegaard will probably get the nod.

Hedegaard tries to counter by clinching up but Edmonds breaks away and moves out of range.

Hedegaard with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Edmonds to score with a decent uppercut.

Edmonds fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hedegaard looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Edmonds sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Hedegaard doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Edmonds paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Hedegaard - great work!
