The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golles closes the distance but Smith moves to the side
and Smith counters with a takedown into side control.
Smith slows the pace down.
Golles wants to get back to his feet but Smith drags him back down.
Golles is trying to escape the position but Smith is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith is chipping away with strikes.
Golles trying to remain calm as Smith controls from the top position.
Golles is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Smith asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Smith takes a little break here. Golles wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith advances to full mount.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Golles looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out!
