PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jukka Raikkonen (ranked 712 p4p, 1224 weight class) and Johnny Dough (ranked 106 p4p, 170 weight class). Johnny Dough will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jukka Raikkonen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Johnny Dough!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Raikkonen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Raikkonen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Still in half guard, Raikkonen seems content to control.
Raikkonen's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dough wants to improve his position but Raikkonen is controlling well.

Raikkonen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like Johnny Dough has been cut.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Raikkonen.
Raikkonen lands punches and elbows.

Raikkonen lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Raikkonen.
What can Dough do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Raikkonen has the hooks in. Dough is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
