The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Putin moves into the clinch successfully.
Putin is trying to break the clinch but Silva is controlling him.
Putin prevents Silva from breaking the clinch.
Putin lands a left hand.

Putin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wanderley Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Putin throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Putin stalks Silva and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Silva's face. Silva staggers backwards, shaken.
Silva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Putin counters with a stiff right hand.

Putin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Silva takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Silva is rocked!
Silva looks up at the clock. Bad move! Putin lands a right hand from hell, dropping Silva. Putin pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
