Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marley King!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, John Mangel and Chris Dean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King moves in looking to clinch but Souza pushes him off.
Souza moves away from the strike by King.
Souza throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Souza takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
King fails with an attempt to clinch.

King is refusing to be controlled, as Souza sits in half guard.

Souza is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

King felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Souza creates some space and throws a big elbow, but King sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
King is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if King can do anything to dispel that myth.

King is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Souza locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! King is forced to tap!
