Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carl Mohn (ranked 4412 p4p, 2935 weight class) and Elobonfu Ngalo (ranked 0 p4p, 345 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carl Mohn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elobonfu Ngalo! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ngalo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mohn circles away quickly and effectively. Ngalo clinches up with Mohn and pushes him back against the cage. Mohn tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ngalo just stands there and leans against the cage. A knee to the head by Ngalo.
Ngalo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Mohn forces his way into half guard. Mohn thows a huge punch but Ngalo dodges it nicely.
Mohn wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ngalo keeps working. Ngalo pushes Mohn off looking to stand but Mohn dives back in and keeps control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ngalo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Mohn throwing strikes from guard but Ngalo blocks nicely. Mohn wants to control from the top but Ngalo keeps moving. Ngalo wants to sweep here but Mohn controlling him for the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ngalo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mohn slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Ngalo prevents Mohn from moving into mount. Mohn trying to control the action but Ngalo is working from the bottom. Ngalo is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Ngalo struggling a bit here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ngalo dodges the ground and pound from Mohn. Ngalo is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mohn tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Mohn tries to move into full mount but can't pass Ngalo's legs. Mohn working away. Mohn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ngalo, who protects the arm well. Ngalo manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Mohn passes to side control. Ngalo is not content to let Mohn control the position. Mohn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ngalo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mohn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mohn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ngalo parries the strikes from Mohn easily there. Mohn is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ngalo to escape.

That was a close round but I would say that Carl Mohn will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ngalo looks to throw the jab but Mohn is out of range. Ngalo with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Ngalo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Ngalo pulls guard effortlessly. Ngalo wants to sweep but no luck. Mohn is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Mohn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mohn postures up.
Ngalo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mohn's guard.

Mohn lunges at Ngalo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ngalo's hand. Ngalo forces Mohn back against the cage and clinches. Ngalo using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Mohn has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Ngalo is breathing heavily. Ngalo lands a damaging elbow. Mohn tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ngalo just stands there and leans against the cage. Ngalo lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Ngalo lands a damaging elbow. Ngalo pulls guard. Mohn stopping the sweep attempt from Ngalo. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mohn trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mohn works a leg free and moves into half guard. Mohn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Mohn is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ngalo defends it well. This has been an exciting period of action! Mohn thows a huge punch but Ngalo dodges it nicely.

Ngalo is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mohn wants to pass the guard but Ngalo is defending well. Ngalo wants to improve his position but Mohn is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mohn is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Carl Mohn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mohn blocks a leg kick. Mohn tries to clinch up but Ngalo circles away and keeps his distance. No joy there for Mohn, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ngalo is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Elobonfu Ngalo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Mohn closes the distance and lands a one-two. Ngalo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mohn. Ngalo takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Mohn lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Ngalo is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. A nice combination there by Mohn.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mohn swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ngalo. Mohn swings for the body but Ngalo moves out of range.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mohn enables Ngalo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mohn manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Ngalo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Mohn lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Mohn drops back looking for a leg! Ngalo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ngalo manages to kick Mohn off! Mohn jumps back into Ngalo's guard. Mohn stopping the sweep attempt from Ngalo.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mohn tries to free his leg and advance position but Ngalo is retaining full guard. Mohn controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Ngalo keeping moving, preventing Mohn from controlling successfully. Mohn drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mohn jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are working up against the cage. Ngalo manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Mohn tries to pull guard but Ngalo won't allow it.

Mohn jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ngalo walks away with a smile on his face. Mohn gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mohn scores with a jab to the body. Mohn misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Mohn tries to keep at a distance but Ngalo has taken the fight into the clinch. Mohn is trying to pull guard but Ngalo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Mohn is trying to stall.

A nice right hand lands inside from Mohn. Mohn tries to throw a body punch but Ngalo avoids it by throwing Mohn back against the cage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mohn on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Mohn blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Mohn tries to pull guard but Ngalo won't allow it.

And that's the end of the fight! Carl Mohn showed his dominance in that final round. I think Mohn has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
