Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Rotel!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leroy Montes!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rotel swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rotel misses with a double jab.
Montes throws out a counter right but Rotel avoids it with no problem.
Rotel misses with a wild combination.
Montes swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Montes misses with a wild combination.
Montes misses the shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Some wild striking there from Rotel.
Ricky Rotel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Montes listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rotel misses with a hook
and Montes counters with a stiff right hand.
Rotel throws the left hand but Montes avoids the punch easily.
Montes throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rotel counters with a three punch combo that has Montes backing up. Montes nods at Rotel to acknowledge the strikes.
Rotel lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Montes backs up against the ropes.
Rotel really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rotel fails to land with a series of punches.
Despite the aggression on Montes's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Rotel takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
A good leg kick by Montes.
Rotel cracks Montes with a right hand to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rotel scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Montes beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.
Montes is rocked!
Rotel is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Rotel shuts the power down on Montes. Lights out, game over! Rotel is your winner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Ricky Rotel!
