Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tapad Amiga (ranked 23988 p4p, 23835 weight class) and Rico Salvacion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 67 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tapad Amiga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 47 - 56 - 6, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rico Salvacion!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Amiga is trying hard to land a takedown here. Salvacion sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Salvacion counters with a body kick.
Amiga shoots in but Salvacion avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Salvacion replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Amiga blocks it well.
Amiga shoots for a takedown but Salvacion saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Salvacion follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tapad Amiga. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Salvacion displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Amiga.

Amiga shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Salvacion is trying to defend but Amiga finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Nice sprawl there from Amiga as Salvacion shoots in.
And Amiga counters with a quick kick to the body but Salvacion blocks it.

Amiga has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Salvacion has passed into side control.

Salvacion is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Amiga's shoulder. That is not cool.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Amiga sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Amiga has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Salvacion is working away from the top position though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Salvacion not doing much here.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Rico Salvacion will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Amiga throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Salvacion's waist but Salvacion gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Amiga off to one side.
Amiga fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Salvacion is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

Salvacion shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Amiga is pulling down on Salvacion's head to control his posture.

Salvacion stays in close to Amiga's body and controls the position.
Salvacion has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rico Salvacion has got the better of the ground game so far.
Amiga is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Amiga wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Salvacion is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Amiga will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Salvacion decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Amiga trying to hold on to Salvacion's head to control him but Salvacion postures up.
Still in half guard, Salvacion seems content to control.
Amiga is trying to maintain the position but Salvacion is very close to passing his half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Salvacion in particular looking to stall.
Amiga has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Salvacion is working away from the top position though.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Salvacion shoots in and bounces Amiga off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Salvacion stays in close to Amiga's body and controls the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Rico Salvacion showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Amiga wants to control but Salvacion is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Salvacion perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Salvacion looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Tapad Amiga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rico Salvacion is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Salvacion thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Amiga shoots in for a takedown but Salvacion shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Salvacion steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Salvacion doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Amiga counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tapad Amiga showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Salvacion has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
