Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yoji Anjo Anjo (ranked 1762 p4p, 3779 weight class) and Gun Von Neumann (ranked 224 p4p, 404 weight class). Yoji Anjo Anjo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 25 - 36 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yoji Anjo Anjo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gun Von Neumann! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anjo on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Von Neumann misses with a hook
and Anjo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Von Neumann tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Anjo paws at him with a jab and circles away. Von Neumann swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Anjo. A slow jab from Von Neumann misses its intended target. As Von Neumann looks to move away, Anjo throws a big counter combo but Von Neumann just gets out of the way. Anjo moves into the clinch. Von Neumann fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Anjo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Von Neumann gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Von Neumann is looking to break free of the clinch but Anjo has double underhooks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Von Neumann tries to stall but Anjo uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Von Neumann is trying to maintain a safe position but Anjo gets an underhook and turns Von Neumann into the cage. Von Neumann is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Anjo is keeping busy. Von Neumann seems frustrated at his inability to get double underhooks. Von Neumann tries a body shot but Anjo blocks it.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Gun Von Neumann. Anjo blocks a jab. Anjo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Anjo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. It seemed like Von Neumann was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Von Neumann throws a body punch but Anjo moves out of range. Von Neumann misses with a right hand and Anjo counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Von Neumann is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Anjo can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoji Anjo Anjo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Von Neumann avoiding damage.
Von Neumann wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Von Neumann is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Anjo tries to land a knee to the head but Von Neumann blocks with his arms.
Anjo has Von Neumann pushed against the cage. Anjo dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Anjo for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. Von Neumann can't find room to land a body shot as Anjo controls the action.
Von Neumann stalling in the clinch but Anjo improves position. Anjo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Anjo has a takedown stuffed. Von Neumann tries to clinch but Anjo moves out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Von Neumann rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Anjo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Von Neumann's guard. Anjo is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Anjo postures up.
Anjo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Anjo tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Von Neumann! But no joy. Anjo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Von Neumann swivels and escapes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anjo fails miserably with a takedown attempt. We've been informed that Von Neumann has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Anjo tries a head kick but it misses.
A cross from Von Neumann lands. Anjo swats away the attempt to clinch by Von Neumann. It looked like Anjo was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Von Neumann swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A slow jab from Von Neumann misses its intended target. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Von Neumann fails in his attempt to clinch. Anjo went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Von Neumann throws the left hand but Anjo avoids the punch easily. Anjo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Von Neumann. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Yoji Anjo Anjo will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Von Neumann is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Anjo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Von Neumann. Anjo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Von Neumann defends it nicely. Anjo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Von Neumann sprawls well initially but Anjo persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Von Neumann is looking to control Anjo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Von Neumann avoid being mounted? We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Von Neumann can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anjo decides to stand up. Yoji Anjo Anjo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Von Neumann misses with a right hand and Anjo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Von Neumann misses with a double jab
and Anjo counters by moving into the clinch. Von Neumann lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Von Neumann can't find room to land a body shot as Anjo controls the action.

Von Neumann is trying to break free. Anjo is trying to trip Von Neumann. He has hold of a leg but Von Neumann is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Anjo persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Von Neumann can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Anjo controls the pace. Von Neumann looking to control.
Anjo controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Von Neumann controls Anjo momentarily but Anjo frees himself. Von Neumann seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Anjo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Von Neumann can do to turn this around? Anjo engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Anjo is working Von Neumann over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Anjo is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Anjo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Von Neumann sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anjo somewhat. Von Neumann scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Von Neumann gets tackled into the cage by Anjo. Anjo maintains the clinch. Anjo pulls Von Neumann into guard.
Von Neumann is posturing up here but Anjo has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Von Neumann tries to roll out but it's too tight and Von Neumann has to tap! Slick submission there by Anjo!
