Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ippo Makunouchi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Roy Glass!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glass wants to clinch.
A punch combination from Glass misses.
Glass tries to close the distance and clinch but Makunouchi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Makunouchi misses with a wild body shot.
Makunouchi throws a sloppy head kick and Glass moves out of range easily.
Makunouchi lands a jab-cross combination.
It looks like Roy Glass has been cut.
Glass wants to clinch.
Makunouchi throws a jab when Glass was well out of range.
Makunouchi looks to land a combination but Glass avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Glass's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Makunouchi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Glass scrambles back to his feet.
Makunouchi tries a head kick but it misses.
Makunouchi looks to score with a jab to the body but Glass is just out of range.
Glass wants to counter the offense by Makunouchi and move into the clinch position.
Glass is looking to clinch.
Makunouchi throws a shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Makunouchi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Makunouchi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Makunouchi sets himself, and Glass steps forward looking for the clinch! Makunouchi avoids it this time.
Glass walks into a left hand.
Glass avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Makunouchi waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Glass.
Makunouchi tries to bum rush Glass with a series of wild strikes but Glass uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Makunouchi fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Glass dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Makunouchi takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
It looks like Ippo Makunouchi has been cut.
Makunouchi stalks Glass and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Glass's face. Glass staggers backwards, shaken.
The fighters circling - Makunouchi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Glass fails in his attempt to clinch.
Glass wants to clinch.
Makunouchi cracks Glass on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Glass falls backwards against the cage. Makunouchi follows up with more strikes that drop Glass to his knees. Makunouchi keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Glass! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ippo Makunouchi!
