Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diego Lopez (ranked 1495 p4p, 1068 weight class) and Viktor Mikidropov (ranked 189 p4p, 140 weight class). Lopez comes into the arena with 2PAC - All Eyez on Me blaring out of the sound system. Mikidropov has chosen Danger as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mikidropov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lopez's guard.

Lopez wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Mikidropov manages to pass to side control.
Mikidropov frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lopez has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lopez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mikidropov on the ground.
