Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Liam Carter (ranked 3639 p4p, 4734 weight class) and Ahmed Pasic (ranked 397 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Liam Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ahmed Pasic!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter gets a clinch.
Pasic changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Carter fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Carter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Carter seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pasic for as long as he can get away with.

Carter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pasic is proving hard to escape from.

Carter tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Pasic swivels and escapes.

Carter bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Pasic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carter. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Carter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pasic wants to control but Carter is having none of it.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Carter cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Pasic is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Carter tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Carter wants to stand but Pasic is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Carter wants to finish this one by submission but Pasic is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Carter.
Pasic takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Carter postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pasic looks a forlorn figure.
Carter lands a heavy elbow.

Pasic goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Pasic tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carter swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Carter stuffs the takedown.
Pasic shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Pasic keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Carter would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Carter wanted to stand there but Pasic had control of the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Carter is pressing down on Pasic's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pasic is holding on for now.
Pasic tries to roll over but Carter keeps him under control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pasic tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carter sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Pasic somewhat.
Carter was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Carter shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Carter showed some decent athleticism there.

Carter tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Pasic is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Carter working over Pasic with some ground and pound. Pasic looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Carter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pasic with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Carter is looking for a kimura here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Pasic wants to stand back up but Carter manages to pass into side control.
Pasic tries to bench press Carter off him but Carter keeps the position.
Carter tries to stand but Pasic is controlling his head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Carter slows the pace down.
Ahmed Pasic has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Liam Carter is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
