Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawindi Buktot (ranked 24002 p4p, 23952 weight class) and Kulata Bitok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 41 - 60 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 66 - 6, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kulata Bitok!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Bitok shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buktot as he avoids it easily.
Buktot drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bitok sprawls and moves away.

Buktot throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Bitok was covering up waiting for the punch and Buktot finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Buktot controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bitok keeping full guard, as Buktot tries to pass.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bitok's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Buktot stays in close to Bitok's body and controls the position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Buktot keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Bitok stuffs the takedown attempt from Buktot. Buktot gets slowly back to his feet.
Bitok replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Buktot blocks it well.

Buktot closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Buktot lands in his opponent's guard.

Bitok seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Buktot controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Buktot seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Bitok for as long as he can get away with.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bitok stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bitok wants it to stay on the feet.

Bitok dives in and grabs Buktot's left leg, looking for a takedown. Buktot pushes down on Bitok's head and hops out.
Buktot displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bitok.
Buktot jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Nice sprawl there from Buktot as Bitok shoots in.

Buktot drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Buktot is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Bitok might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Buktot haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Bitok pulls Buktot in close to prevent any damage.
Buktot content to stall in guard here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bitok is controlling Buktot's posture.
Buktot stays in close to Bitok's body and controls the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Horrible takedown attempt by Buktot or perhaps it was just good defense by Bitok, which made it look bad.
Bitok follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Bitok fails with a takedown attempt.

Bitok goes for a double leg but Buktot avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Buktot continues to drive forward.
Bitok throws a front kick that sends Buktot stumbling back into the cage.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Buktot is defended easily by Bitok.
Buktot dives in and grabs Bitok's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bitok pushes down on Buktot's head and hops out.

Buktot darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Buktot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bitok keeps working.
Bitok is looking to control Buktot's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bitok avoid being mounted?

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bitok is staying active underneath Buktot, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kulata Bitok has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Dawindi Buktot is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Nice takedown defense from Buktot. No joy for Bitok on that attempt.

Bitok fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Buktot manages to avoid it.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dawindi Buktot.
Well Buktot has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
