Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Big Boss (ranked 301 p4p, 2266 weight class) and Oscar Bukele (ranked 40 p4p, 293 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Big Boss!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Oscar Bukele!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bukele looks for a takedown but Boss sprawls well.

Boss fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bukele sprawls well initially but Boss persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Bukele looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Bukele is looking for a sweep. Boss is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Boss looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Boss seems to be looking for submissions.
Boss slows the pace down in half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boss is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bukele to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bukele shrugs it off.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boss is stalling here. Bukele is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Boss seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bukele has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Boss throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bukele uses it to pass to side control.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bukele throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Boss's waist but Boss gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bukele off to one side.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Boss won't allow Bukele to sweep him here.

Bukele has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Boss is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bukele.
Big Boss overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Boss moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bukele has worked his arm free - good work by Bukele!

Boss is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bukele doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Boss.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bukele is not content to let Boss control the position.
Boss prevents Bukele from improving his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's time! Boss's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Bukele keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Boss shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bukele sprawls well. Bukele wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Boss gets slowly back to his feet.

Bukele is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Boss's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Boss's back!

Boss is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Boss has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bukele can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

I think Bukele has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
