Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Irfan General (ranked 5519 p4p, 4275 weight class) and Jaime Stevens (ranked 503 p4p, 439 weight class). Jaime Stevens has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Irfan General's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Irfan General!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jaime Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
General tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stevens swivels and escapes.
Stevens throws a fast counter high kick but General manages to duck under it in time.

Stevens pushes General up against the cage in a clinch.
General misses with a punch on the inside.
Stevens tries to score a body lock takedown but General shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
A head punch on the inside from General fails to land.

General breaks the clinch.
Stevens shoots for a double leg takedown but General sprawls well. He's pushed Stevens's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
General is looking to counter with head kicks.
No luck with that takedown attempt from General.
General tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stevens swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Stevens lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A head kick by Stevens misses
and General counters with a one-two to the body.
Stevens fails with a takedown attempt.
Irfan General has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaime Stevens.
Stevens throws a hook but General blocks it.

General closes the distance and clinches.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
General lands an uppercut.
General jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stevens walks away with a smile on his face. General gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Stevens scores with a takedown into General's guard.

General has his feet on Stevens's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Stevens darts in and clinches General up against the cage.

General escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
General throws an overhand right that lands on Stevens's shoulder, as Stevens tries to avoid the shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stevens throws a head kick but General moves out of range.
General shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stevens as he avoids it easily.
Stevens catches General with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Stevens throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Stevens closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into General's guard.
Stevens is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Stevens throws a big right hand that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stevens sitting in guard, not really doing much.
General is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Stevens dives into side control.
Stevens looking to punish the body of his opponent here but General is avoiding damage well.
General tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Stevens controlling his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stevens dominating with strikes here.
Stevens controlling the position easily from mount.

Stevens looking to secure an arm triangle but General defends it well.
General wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Stevens.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Stevens seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
General keeping moving, preventing Stevens from controlling successfully.
General wants to sweep here but Stevens controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

General looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Stevens has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Stevens controls from within his opponent's guard.
Stevens is pushing down on General's leg trying to pass to half guard. General is fighting to maintain full guard but Stevens has managed to sneak the leg through.
Stevens trying to control the action but General is working from the bottom.
Stevens thows a huge punch but General dodges it nicely.

General is defending against the submission attempts here by Stevens.

Stevens content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Stevens passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for General!

General is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Jaime Stevens has got the better of the ground game so far.

Stevens stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
No joy there for Stevens, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
General is looking to counter the offense by Stevens and move into the clinch.
Stevens swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
General tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Stevens manages to circle out of the way.
Irfan General is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Stevens feints and as General raises his hands in defense, Stevens changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
General keeping moving, preventing Stevens from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stevens passes General's left leg - he's now in half guard.
General wants to get back to full guard.

Stevens trying to control the pace.

Stevens seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. General is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
